Object Name: hat

Description: Black beaver fur top hat with sweat band made from wool. The brim is edged with black petersham braid. The inside of the hat is lined with ivory silky fabric. Stamped in the crown is the manufacturer's label 'HILHOUSE & Co Hat and Cap Makers 11 New Bond Street, London'. Leather hatbox lined in red with a carrying handle, the remains of a strap (d) and a lock on the front. The leather in very poor condition. May have red rot. Hat brush.
