: East India Company officer's 1822 pattern sword. Plain piped back slightly curved blade is fitted with an open gilt brass guard. Incorporating the device of the company a rampant lion holding a crown within its paws. To the base are the initials 'E.I.C.' Shagreen grip with brass twist wire binding. Housed in polished brass scabbard fitted with two loose rings. Minor age wear. Good condition.
