: 1900s home made wooden doll with large painted head, black hair, rose-bud lips, and wooden body with hinged elbows and knees. Square toppped spherical head painted a pale flesh colour with red, rose-bud lips, small blue eyes, dilute black upper eye, lids and eyebrows.Small vertical lozenge as nose, carved onto face and large rosey pink cheeks. Black hair is painted in two different tones, a more dilute hairline around top of face and jet black forming a more or less straight edged frame to the hairline. The head is attached to a torso shaped piece of wood with a neck and flat topped shoulders which taper out to form a underbust and then to form a waist. Hips are carved outwards with a falt fronted abdomen. The back of the torso is flat. The foreams are painted white, as are the lower legs. Shoes are painted red.
