: Silver necklace, lunate with sheet silver over a wooden form. The front decorated with filigree work of coils and loops, 7 studs, and 20 loops along bottom edge for double bells. Six large loops along top edge, holding a double cord. Back plain save for wire divisions between studs on the front. Collector's label: Somali / Yemen. Pectoral Lunate with bells - silver. Used by dancing women at feasts. purchased Mogadishu Somalia 1942. Collector's note: Somalia used by dancing women at feasts. Made of silver and cleaned with tamarind juice.
