: Wooden photograph frame, flat, with curved sides and curved feet, cut-out at centre with backboard and broken hinge for missing stand. 'Groningen' and 'R.N.D'. painted on front, R.N.D. flanked by 6 crossed flags of the Allies; Holland, Germany and Britain, and Japan, France and Norway. Holding sepia photograph of woman,wearing velvet calf-length dress and cloche hat, perched on arm of arm-chair. On back, written in ink, 'Made by Bristol RNVR's interned at Groningen during the Great European War 1914-15' at bottom. 'H. Turner. Mess 13. Benbow Batt' (last part not clear) written in pencil on the removable backboard. Bone catches (only one left).
