Description: Red wool short mess jacket with black shawl collar and black cuffs. Epaulettes with 3 enamelled brass pips and 'T'. RE symbol in silver thread sewn on either side of collar. Red silk twill lining, very worn. 1 inside pocket. Red leather hem. Some moth grazing on brushed surface of red wool. Maker's label in back neck: Hobson & Sons, 5 & 6 Lexington Street, London W, with handwritten name of client: Capt J.A. Brown 2951.
