The breech stamped with Birmingham proof marks and engraved George Gibbs, 29 Corn Street, Bristol; .577Governmt. Bore. Bayonet mounting bar at muzzle. Blade fore-sight and adjustable ramp rear-sight. Constructed with a false breech. Brass chain nipple guard. Retained to the stock with 2 barrel slides. Three-quarter walnut stock with iron furniture comprising; butt plate, trigger guard with sling loops and 2 ramrod pipes. Iron ramrod. Flat Enfield 1853 Pattern percussion lock with border line engraving and marked George Gibbs. Retained to the stock by 2 sidenails.
