Description: Double barrelled pinfire shotgun by George Gibbs, Bristol. Side by side round Damacus twist barrels with upper and lower ribs, the upper rib signed 'George Gibbs, 29 Corn Street, Bristol'. Iron action with engraved standing breech. The upper part of the action is also formed with a long tang engraved with foliate designs. Barrel release lever can be rotated anti-clockwise to open breech. Walnut stock with chequered wrist, and walnut detachable and chequered forestock. Engraved iron furniture comprising; butt plate, trigger guard. White metal escutcheon and sling swivel support. Right and left engraved side-locks signed 'George Gibbs'. Secured to the stock by 2 sidenails.
