: Percussion military carbine, Victoria Pattern c1850, signed Conting?. Round iron smooth bore barrel, with blade fore-sight and standing rear-sight. Retained to the stock with 2 barrel slides. Iron ramrod with large domed head, retained to the barrel with a swivel link. Walnut full stock with brass furniture comprising; butt plate, trigger guard with finger rest, fore-end cap and 2 ramrod pipes. Underside of butt and fore-end with sling swivels. Flat Enfield-type percussion lock with border line engraving and partly obliterated inscription including the word 'Conting' (faint). Retained to the stock by 2 sidenails, one formed with a large ring for mounting on a saddle.
