: Percussion blunderbuss, by J Jones. Brass cannon form barrel formed in 2 stages, octagonal at the breech then round to the flared muzzle. The muzzle formed with cannon like ring mouldings, the breech stamped with proof marks and makers marks P and V within ovals. Iron triangular form bayonet mounted on the underside; ramrod pipes and wooden ramrod mounted on the left side. Engraved iron barrel tang channel. Retained to the stock with 1 barrel slide. Walnut half stock with truncated fore-stock. Engraved brass furniture comprising; butt plate, trigger guard with pineapple finial and incorporating a bayonet release trigger and small sideplate. Engraved flat form lock converted to percussion by drum and nipple, signed 'J. Jones'. Sliding safety behind hammer. Retained to the stock by 2 sidenails.
