: British military percussion rifle Model Pattern 53 by London Armoury Company dated 1860. Round steel barrel, the breech stamped with London proof marks and the initials L.A.C. Bayonet mounting bar at muzzle. Raised blade fore-sight and adjustable & calibrated ramp rear-sight. Brass chain nipple guard. Retained to the stock with 3 iron barrel bands, the forward band with steel a sling swivel. Three-quarter walnut stock with brass furniture comprising; butt plate, trigger guard with sling swivel. Iron ramrod. Flat percussion lock stamped with Royal Cypher (Crown & VR) and the date 1860, together with L.A.Co.. Retained to the stock by 2 sidenails. Steel bayonet with triangular blade 52.5cm in length, stamped C92.
