Description: Sallis's mahogany, hand cut, hand coloured lithograph, Alphabet of Animals wooden jigsaw puzzle with interlocking border and non-interlocking pieces. Depicts twenty-five pictures each with a capital and lower case letter and a picture of an animal (except 'Li' and 'Jj' are together): ass, bison, camel, dogs, elephant, fox, giraffe, horse, ibex and jackal, kangaroo, lion, musk ox, nil-ghau, ocelot, porcupine, quagga, rhinoceros, sheep, tiger, ursine baboon, vicuna, wolf, Xanthus sheep, york buffalos, zebra Box with sliding lid. Lid shows 'The dog of St Bernard' caring a child through the snow, to the monks of St Bernard. Embossed/ letterpress descriptive sheet covering each animal depicted. Index/Key picture on thick paper.
