: Copy of the Maguey Plan. Tracing from a photograph. The tracing is made from ink but also painted with watercolour. Shows the N.W. and N.E half of the map. Large and small canals and roads cross both diagonally and horizontally. Houses are shown with their owners heads and names in glyphs. Spanish words are also added. 6 temples, churches, and a teopan are represented along with about 300 people. Footprints are shown on the roads. The southern half of the map has an inscription - 'A unique map of the ancient City of Mexico, made by order of Montezuma for Cortes to send to the king of Spain. In this the public temples are accurately...' (Three words are missing).
