: 18 pieces of cane or wood (all approx. same size) attached to one long thin pieces which forms the handle. The "waist" is formed by the sticks being stuck together with resin (?) and then inlaid with a mother-of-pearl decoration on one side, 23 pieces of mother-ofpearl, all triangular and notched in several places. Up the middle they run in pairs, side by side, with other pieces slotted in between. At the end of this decorative area is a crossbar from which the teeth protrude. Most of the handle and teeth are stained black (black gum?). There is a thin twisted piece of twine attached to the handle, frayed at the ends.
