: porcelain dish, painted in under-glaze cobalt blue with central figures after Persian painting of the school of Riza-yi `Abbasi (active about 1598-1638) with borders containing mixed Chinese, Turkish and European baroque motifs; Chinese, for the Persian or Indian market; probably about1650.This piece resembles the typical 'kraak porselein' made for the cheaper domestic market and for export between about 1575 and 1675 but is almost unique in bearing Persian ornament.
