: Dish of porcelain with a folate rim of eight shallow barbed lobes and brown 'lip rouge' glaze (Japanese: fuchibeni 縁紅) along the rim. Decorated with red, green, black, aubergine, and yellow enamels on underglaze blue. In the centre is depicted a branch of red and white fruits (lychees? raspberries?) with green leaves. The surrounding border has been divided into eight panels with alternating designs of: green bamboo leaves on white; five white flowers on a stylised wave patterned background in blue; a red flower head with green leaves; a large white flower surrounded by four smaller white flowers on a blue crosshatched background. The underside is left blank. In a circle within the footring is a six-character mark in two lines that reads: 大明成化年製 (Japanese: taimin seika nensei) 'great Ming dynasty Chenghua period (1465-1487) make'. There are four spur-marks on the base.
