: Chullu, hat, knitted in acrylic and hand-spun sheep's wool yarn, with a visor and pompom. Knitted for a 7 year old boy. Knitted by Vibrana Quispe de Calsi of Sancayuni Suyu, in stocking stitch, with a white wool ground and acrylic coloured bands. Three bands of small motifs set within wide rainbow sections. Informant Fermina Calsin Quispe said flowers are t'ika (Quechua) zigzags isi, whilst Endosia Pacompia Quispe described them as t'ika con camino, flowers along a path; camino, path; and estrellas, stars. Rainbow stripes are arco iris. Ribbed visor knitted separately and sewn to crown.
