: offering table

: A corner piece from an offering table/ statue. The top surface has relief carvings of various food stuffs like meat, cakes/bread and grain. One edge is badly damaged, and only five parallel lines are visible. The other edge has hieroglyphs inscribed, including two cartouches (only partly damamged). There is a crack through one cartouche which runs down the back of the piece. The back is severely damaged but may contain traces of a statue's fingers. Translation (from register): 'Living, father of mankind? [text] Lives Prince of 2 horizons rejoicing in the horizon. [cartouche 1] in his name of the Light (?) coming from the Aten.' [cartouche 2]
