: Bank note printed on both sides. On the obverse it is printed in black ink. In the top left-hand corner are two unicorns either side of the Bristol Coat of Arms resting upon the motto "Virtute et Industria". The following is written on the note: No C[9194] Bristol BULLION Bank No C[9194] 37 Corn Street I Promise to pay the Bearer on Demand the Sum of ONE POUND Value Rec.d Bristol the [2] day of [March] 182[4] For C[9194] Browne, Cavenagh, Browne & Bayly. One Ent.d [C.Short?] [Henry Browne] There are three bankruptcy stamps a large on naming Cavenagh, Browne and Browne and two smaller ones denoting payment of first and second dividends. On the reverse is a large cartouche in red and black ink. In the centre is a lion and a unicorn either side of a Coat of Arms with a crown on top. The motto underneath says "Dieu et Mon Droit". The word "one" appears along the bottom. The note is dirty with age and is covered in tiny creases.
