: Bank note printed on both sides only in black ink. On the obverse in the top left-hand corner are two unicorns either side of the Bristol Coat of Arms, resting upon the motto "virtute et Industria." The following is written on the note: No C[4820] Bristol BULLION Bank No C[4820] 37 Corn Street I Promise to pay the Bearer on Demand the sum of ONE POUND Value rec.d Bristol the [10] day of [Oct] 18[21] For C[4820] One Browne, Cavenagh, Browne & Bayly. Ent.d (faded signature) [Henry Browne] In the centre of the note is a bankruptcy stamp served against Nathaniel Cavenagh, William Browne and Henry Browne at Bush Tavern, Bristol. The paper is covered in tiny creases and is very dirty due to ageing. In the corners there are some orange/brown colour patches. On the reverse is a large ornate cartouche in red and black ink with a crown stamped in the centre and the word "one" at the bottom.
