: Bank note printed on both sides. On the obverse it is printed in black ink. In the top left-hand corner are two unicorns either side of the Bristol Coat of Arms resting upon the motto "Virtute et Industria". The following is written on the note: No C[7042] Bristol BULLION Bank No C7042 37 Corn Street I Promise to pay the Bearer on Demand the Sum of ONE POUND Value Rec.d Bristol the [2] day of [June] 18[23] For C[7042] Browne, Cavenagh, Browne & Bayly. One Ent.d (illegible signature) [Henry Browne] The note has been stamped in three places with bankruptcy stamps. One is a large rectangle shape running horizontally with the action being served against Cavenagh, Browne and Browne, at Bush Tavern, Bristol. The others are first and second dividend stamps on the left and right-hand sides. On the reverse is a large ornate cartouche in red and black ink. There is a crown in the middle and a motto "Dieu et Mon Droit?" The word "ONE" is stamped underneath. The note is very dirty through ageing.
