: Bank note printed on one side of paper in black ink. Along the left-hand side is an ornate decoration using the initials of the partners and the word "Bristol". In the top left-hand corner is a circular design featuring a building with a neo-classical facade. In the right-hand corner is a circular design featuring the Bristol Coat of Arms, surrounded by the motto "Virtute et Industria". The following is written on the note: No 802 COMMERCIAL £ONE BRISTOL TOKEN COMPANY Eftablished August 12th, 1811, to facilitate Trade. I Promise to Pay the Bearer the Sum of ONE POUND, on Demand, at Mefs.rs Will.m Storrs Fry & Sons, Bankers in London. Value received the 16 day of Jan.y 1812 No 802 For Garratt, Terrell, Bird, Beck & Grigg. Ent.d [F.Parker] ONE POUND [W.Terrell] The note has discoloured through age and has been mounted onto some card.
