: Banknote, printed on one side in black ink. No:[661] Bristol Commercial Bank No 9 Bridge Street. No:[661] I Promise to pay to Evan Baillie or Bearer on Demand the sum of ONE POUND BRISTOL,the [13] day of [March] 18[04] For Clayton, Oliver, Burdon, & Co ONE POUND [J. Clayton] Ent.d [J.Strachan] Two logos appear on the note. One of a ship in the top left-hand corner, which appears to have been added as a separate piece of paper. The other directly below C.O.B &Co in a cartouche. The paper is discoloured and is slightly creased. There is some foxing in the bottom right-hand corner, there also appears to have been some repair work. On the reverse of the note there are six words of illegible handwriting.
