Red clay. Squat shouldered body, short everted neck with pulled lip; loop handle with centre spine. Creamy glaze. Painted decoration in blue, green, brown, purple and black: a pelican on one side, a fish on opposite side; scattering of blue-edged purple dots.

Cylindrical, waisted form flared at top; two raised narrow mouldings around body and one thicker rounded moulding below rim; band of six applied cast rectangles of leafy scrolls. Below rim, applied individual cast letters: 'IOANE SAIVADGE' and date '1659'.

Brise fan: 26 sticks and 2 guards held by cream silk ribbon: gouache painted character at tip of each stick. Painted across the sticks in the centre are willows and a tomb inscribed 'Remember poor Geoffrey Crayon'. Top of each stick is carved. Metal and paste pivot In box covered with red paper (.b).
