Red burnished vase. Flat rim. Finished on a turntable. Broken into one large piece, 7 medium pieces, and 19 smaller pieces. Slight surface abrasion. Some red painted decoration on some of the pieces.

A squat jar carved from stone. It has a flat base and a high shoulder. The neck is damaged, and the outside is covered with accretions and scratches.

World Archaeology - Egyptology (H2569.B)
Curved piece (dipped in the centre) of a painted wooden box. Painted with a snake (Apophis- snake god of the underworld) (upside down along the top edge), and a winged figure (Nepthys? The head is missing due to cracking away of the painted surface) in the centre of the panel. The snake is black along the top of the head and green with black spots underneath, around the mouth. The rest of it's body is striped (black and white stripes at the neck, and slanted white and red stripes on it's underbelly) and green with black spots (similar to the mouth area) on it's back. The winged figure has a red body and appears to sit crouched on a red primeval mound (most of the paint is cracked away here). The wings are red, green, blue and black. There are columns (marked in blue) of black hieroglyphs (currently untranslated). On most of the back (in the centre) there is a rectangular section of (plaster?). Holes at the top and the corners, and a loose joint for attaching the box together.
