Short handle made in one with wide flat blade. Blade slightly tapered and is the shape of a spatula. Richly carved towards the base. Dark colour wood. Carving probbaly the bird's head motif. The carving a curvilinear scroll design from a stylised head of the frigate bird with zig zag designs at each end.

Grass skirt on waist band. The lengths of fibre were fitted onto the waist band in groups, all red brown in colour but some groups have horizontal 3cm wide dark brown painted strips on them for decoration.

Fine fibre strands bound to a 1 cm wide fibre band at the top. The whole is a red brown colour. Probably these fibres were bound on to the band in bunches of lighter and darker shades but the whole was faded by 1977 and it has become very fragile.

Red/brown grass skirt on waist band of plaited fibre. There is one length of dark brown fibre with lighter brown on either side and the rest of the skirt is formed from groups of red and brown strips of fibre fixed alternately to the waist band.

Two rows of grey seeds sewn together and attached to a fibre band. 17 rows of seeds each containing approx. 24 seeds are attached to the seed band and dangle down for decoration. There are fibre tie strings on either end of the band. With strings of seeds hanging down from the centre. An armlet or forehead ornament.
