The Bristol Jack in the Green dances through the city, entertaining and surprising passers-by. People often follow for part of the way, or gather to watch the dances and enjoy the spectacle.
With slight variations from year to year, Jack travels from M Shed (10.30am on the first Saturday in May), through the Centre and along King Street to St Nicholas Market.
The next part of his journey sees Broadmead and Upper Maudlin Street, before he makes light work of St Michael's Hill (1.00pm).
In the afternoon, he dances through Kingsdown, Cotham and Redland, before his procession moves up the Gloucester Road to his final resting place on Horfield Common (4.00pm).
