Janet Scammell, MBE (1939 - )

Disability equality campaigner

Janet was awarded the MBE in 1999 for her tireless work on disability equality. Using her own experience of being disabled, she has campaigned passionately for the benefit of others, promoting mobility through Shopmobility and volunteering at a number of organisations. She has even found time to edit ‘The Disabled Motorist’ magazine. Janet is an inspiration to me and many people.
