This is the first Bristol pound to come off the printing press and be released, hence the issue number BP01 0000001. It was presented to the Lord Mayor and then donated to the museum.

The obverse design is by Phil West, the reverse image 'Bicycle' is by Bristol illustrator Jethro Brice.
