This bankers draft was donated to the museum in 1921. It is extremely thin and fragile. Before it could be displayed at M Shed in 2011 it was treated by a paper conservator. Remnants of secondary paper support were removed from the back using a scalpel and local application of moisture to soften the fibres. Tears were repaired and supported using spider tissue adhered with wheat starch paste. It was hinged to a piece of 100% cotton museum board using handmade Kozo fibre Japanese paper and adhered with wheat starch paste.
