This child's coat is made from sealskin. Traditional Inuit clothing was designed to allow movement and flexibility while providing the greatest amount of warmth. Girls' clothing was tightly stitched for warmth, boys' clothing was looser so they could become accustomed to the cold and become more resilient while hunting.
