Photo circa 1918 of a Bristol M1C Monoplane Scout, C4910, with 110 HP Clerget engine, designed by Frank Barnwell and produced by the Bristol Aeroplane Company.

The Bristol Monoplane was created in response to the demand for more efficient fighter planes following the high casualties suffered by the Royal Flying Corps in 1916.

125 M1Cs were produced in 1917 and sent to Royal Flying Corps squadrons based in the Middle East.
