This armband was worn to show that a man had put his name down under the Derby scheme – a register which meant they would be called upon for service only when necessary, and until then could stay at home. This scheme was introduced in 1915 as volunteer numbers fell. TB1576 given by Miss Hiley, Miss Bolton and Miss Dunman
