Sapper Samuel Bracey joined the Royal Engineers Regiment. He died after the war, on 18 December 1918, aged 37. His mother and wife lived in Staple Hill. He is buried in the churchyard of Christ Church in Downend, and is also named on the Fishponds war memorial. O.2559
