Single father Phil had been in the Reserves (previously known as the Territorial Army) for 25 years when he was called up to go to Iraq in 2003.

His seven-month tour with a Medical Unit saw him co-ordinating the distribution of uniforms and medical supplies to the front line.

He now works as an employer liaison officer to support recruitment to the Reserves across the South West. In this interview Phil talks about his time in Iraq and the effect this had on him and his family.
