Since the start of the 'green' burial movement in the 1960’s many people have started to move away from the traditional 19th and early 20th century ideas of what a funeral should be. Some people prefer natural, biodegradable materials such as willow or cardboard, which allow the body to decompose and return to the earth. Such ideas can help to reduce the huge costs of 'traditional' funerals.
