From China (1900-1909).

During the annual Qing Ming ('tomb sweeping') festival, families visit and clean the graves of their ancestors as a mark of respect. There is a wide variety of religious and cultural beliefs associated with the dead in China. They usually combine Buddhism, Taoism and folk religions, seeing the afterlife as a place where there is retribution for past actions and lives can be reborn many times.
