These prehistoric skull parts, dating between 4000 - 2300 BC, were found in Stoney Littleton long barrow in Somerset. They are some of the first human remains excavated by British archaeologists in 1816. The excavator, the Reverend John Skinner, wrote on the skulls to identify where they were found.
