Harry Davis (1910-86) and his wife May (1914-85) established Crowan pottery in Cornwall in 1946 to make high quality pottery for everyday use. It was important to them to combine making ceramics with what might now might be called an alternative lifestyle, producing as much as possible themselves, they also had a smallholding and water-wheel. They worked at Crowan until 1962 when they left for New Zealand. This is a good example of some of the more domestic pottery such as tea and coffee sets that were included in the School's Loan collection.
