I went to Goram Fair in 1957 with my parents, brother and sister. I was 3 years old at the time. I still had a soother (dummy in my day). My mother persuaded me to throw my dummy to the giant which I was happy to do until bedtime. She said I was too old for a dummy. I cried and cried at bedtime for another dummy. My brother and sister aged 7 and 9 were sent to the local off licence to get their little sister a new one.
