The Window by John Nash illustrates two particular features of the School Prints. Firstly the use of six or fewer colours set by Rawnsley is used to full effect here, focusing mostly on reds and greens but with the added vibrant yellow canary. Secondly the use of a border was encouraged so that the need to frame the prints, which can be expensive, would be kept to a minimum. This meant that schools could receive the prints and put them straight up on the wall, saving time and money. A lovely feature of this print is the positioning of the red geranium over the heart of the peacefully sleeping old lady.
