Blaise Hamlet was built for the retired employees of the Harford Family at Blaise Castle House in about 1811. It was designed by John Nash, an architect who also designed the dairy at Blaise and the Royal Pavillion in Brighton.

There are nine cottages there, owned by the National Trust since 1943.
