Yee Soo Kyung (born 1963) is a South Korean artist. Her Translated Vases, resembling soap bubbles or multiplying cells, are often seen as a metaphor for transition or transformation. Yee Soo Kyung takes broken ceramic pieces which she reassembles using the traditional art of kintsugi, visible repairs in gold. The destructive force expressed in the damaged shards, clearly visible in the reassembled piece, are translated into an essential part of its aesthetic.
