Between WW1 and WW2, the Royal Corps of Signals, responsible for battlefield communications, grew in size and strength as personnel were posted to key locations in the Empire including Hong Kong, Egypt, Sri Lanka and Jamaica.

This image shows the Royal Corps of Signals unit in Jamaica during WW2. In total, around 10,000 Caribbean soldiers joined up to fight.
