Bristol Industrial Museum was open from 1978- 2006. M Shed, the Museum of Bristol, opened on the site in 2011, keeping the same façade and many of the exhibits.
On display at the Industrial Museum were items from Bristol's industrial past – including aviation, car and bus manufacture, and printing – and exhibits documenting Bristol's maritime history. The railway, cranes and boats all now form part of the working exhibits at M Shed.
Visitors can visit the Industrial & Maritime stores on regular behind the scenes tours: https://www.bristolmuseums.org.uk/m-shed/whats-at/store/
An independent website was created to preserve the essence of the museum. It can be found at http://bristolindustrialmuseum.epizy.com/
