Julie is part of the Nailsea Baptist Church community. During the pandemic, services took place on YouTube.

'We had 'church' online and it's very different. You miss the personal contact- and obviously can't meet up with others for coffee afterwards. Even months down the line when we could meet up with a few people in the actual building we couldn't sing, chat together afterwards or stay behind for coffee. We continued to watch the services online as we could sing and have coffee in our own homes. But of course you can't interact with others. Over the past two weeks I have been to the actual building- we can now sing but are encouraged not to mingle and certainly can't stay for coffee- we are also socially distanced so can only fit around 30 people in the hall. A lot of people don't feel comfortable meeting in the hall. Everyone seems more 'serious' as you are worried about being too close to people and are not sure when you should put your mask on especially when moving around. We still can't open up all the outreach groups but are hoping for more freedom around September time.'
