Many of Bristol's medieval places of worship do not survive. This fragment of a tomb is from St Mary-le-Port. Believed to be the oldest church in Bristol, it was bombed during World War II and now only the tower remains.

The site was excavated between 1962-1963 by Philip Rahtz.
