Mr Taylor presented this silver cup, known as 'The Taylor Cup' to Henleaze Swimming Club in memory of his son, who died tragically at Bristol North Baths. The cup was awarded each year to the men's 100-yards freestyle champion until 2000.It is one of 16 silver trophies presented by the club to winners of various swimming, diving and water-polo competitions. The cup is inscribed 'THE TAYLOR CUP. PRESENTED TO HENLEAZE SWIMMING CLUB BY W.J. TAYLOR, IN MEMORY OF HERBERT VICTOR TAYLOR, LATE MEMBER "A" POLO TEAM 1920'.
