African-Caribbean players from the Montpelier and Multi-Racial Cricket Clubs founded BWICC in 1963. It has won trophies throughout its history. Originally based at the Bamboo Club in St Paul's, the club faced discrimination in its early years. It moved first to Warmley and then in 1989 to Rose Green, Whitehall, where they built their own club house.
