St Peter's Hospital, one of the finest Jacobean buildings in Bristol, was originally built for wealthy merchant Thomas Norton in the 1300s. It was later owned by Robert Aldworth who decorated the front of the house with elaborately carved wooden jetties and brackets showing satyrs from Greek and Roman mythology.
